1828: New
Sodomy Law in England
| Parliament updated its laws
to make buggery easier to
prove. Before the 1828 law, a prosecutor had to prove
that both anal penetration and ejaculation had occurred to
secure a buggery conviction. The new Offenses Against
the Person Act found penetration to be proof enough.
Buggery remained a capital crime until 1861. |
