1836:
Hössli Publishes
Eros
|
Swiss hat-maker and interior designer Heinrich Hössli
(1784-1864) published a two volume work to defend sex between males as
it was practiced in ancient Greece. Hössli's was the
first European voice to defend same-sex love, though the pederastic
model he advocated was eventually displaced by the androphilic
model first clearly articulated by Karl Heinrich
Ulrichs. |
